Question with 4 notes

Anonymous asked: Do you have any advice on where to find inspiration for scarification or hand poked tattoo designs? I'm interested in getting work done, but I need help finding my own direction. I don't want to be insulting to other people or cultures by blatantly copying another's work. Thoughts?

I honestly looked to the artists that I knew for that.  Almost every single design I have on my body was a very basic idea I gave the artist performing the tattoo or scar.  In return they gave me the coolest thing they could come up with given that.  My body is a canvas, and I’m not really one to tell an artist how to draw.  They’re the person who knows how well the design will translate…but I’m a pretty laid back collector, and my attitude towards obtaining body art is different than most.

If you want to follow my lead:

Find someone whose style and execution you really prefer.  Find examples of multiple objects or elements of tattooing or scarification that you really enjoy and wish to include in your piece.  Tell them you want something completely unique and absolutely gorgeous and let them make magic on you.  If there is something you absolutely don’t like, then by all means, let them know…but don’t nitpick.  See it for what it is…a piece of art by an artist whose work you really enjoy.

Anonymous asked: what exactly is a hood split?

It is where you very literally split or cut the tissue of the clitoral hood, which is generally done with the intent of exposing the clitoris partially or completely.

sequoiadesert-deactivated201206 asked: I've always been curious but to shy to ask. What exactly do you have done downstairs?

I have a hood split (previously a 0g vertical hood piercing), and 2 really cute little 12g inner labia piercings on one side. I have plans for more…just a matter of me not being a pansy and taking care of business. Haha :) (I also used to have two outer labia piercings, but that was years ago)

Question with 11 notes

Anonymous asked: How did you get in the professional field you're in now? Can you allow me a thorough explanation, please?

Herrreeee we go:

I was 17 years old, going to college, and dating this guy who was a bit older than me.  I had been obsessed with the thought of body modification (even though I had nothing of my own beside some small stretched ear lobe piercings), since I was 14 or so.  On a couple of occasions, I went with my boyfriend to the tattoo shop where he was working on his sleeve.  I was intrigued with the process, thoroughly enjoyed watching, and would go back and forth between looking at the tattoo in progress and scoping tattoo magazines they had laying about.  As with many tattoo related publications at the time (and still some now), the piercing features in them were sub par, and showcased poorly done piercings, with bad jewelry.  I would often comment on them as I read, and after me doing this over and over…they offered me an apprenticeship.  The person tattooing my boyfriend was the shop owner, and he said that I seemed to be genuinely interested and seemed to already have a lot of good knowledge regarding it, so he figured he would ask.  Knowing that piercing apprenticeships don’t come along every day, and certainly aren’t usually offered, I accepted immediately.  It took over a year of constant learning in the shop, supplementary classes, and internet research, but I eventually finished.

I have taken breaks here and there from this line of work, but that’s how I got into it.  By being utterly and openly obsessed with it, to the point that others couldn’t help but notice.  And then devoting my entire life to it from that point on.  Hahaha

Anonymous asked: Are you gay/bisexual?

I’d say I’m pretty darn straight.  I’m open to love and sexual attraction in any form that it manifests, but so far I have not experienced said attraction to anyone but male bodied individuals.

Question with 36 notes

Anonymous asked: may I ask, what drove you to want to stretch your lip and nostrils? I don't understand why you wanted to do it...I don't mean to be offensive I just really would love to understand the mentality behind it.

I wake up in the morning, and I look at my body and my face, and I love what I see.  I go to my jewelry box, and I love the things I get to adorn my body with.  Everything I have done to change my body has been something I knew deep down in the core fibers of my being that I really wanted, and to a degree, needed.  There is no specific explanation as to why I wanted it necessarily…  Of course, I thought it looked awesome on other people, but I never gave too much thought as to whether it would really look good on me.  I just had some unexplainable faith that it would.  On a base level, I listen to myself, and I do what makes me happy.  Stretching my nostrils and lip have done this.  On a deeper level, I feel like I was meant to wear these adornments, and it pleases my spirit to look the way I do.

If that still doesn’t satisfy your need for understanding…contemplate why you style your hair the way you do, why you dress the way you do, why you do or do not do anything to change the way your body is perceived by yourself and others.  Then consider that different people perceive and appreciate everything differently…physical sensations, fashion/aesthetics, cultural/social cues, etc. and apply that to your knowledge of the above actions as well.  If you can understand that, then you can understand why I do the things I do.

Question with 10 notes

Anonymous asked: Would you mind describing your workout routine? You're getting so buff and I'm so jealous! I wanna be jacked too!

I don’t have a stringent routine set. I generally do 3-4 sets of 10-15 reps on various weight machines aimed at different parts of my arms, legs, and core. I try to push myself really hard so that the weight is just enough I can squeeze out at least 10 or more, but not without solid effort. That said, I grunt a lot. In addition to the machines, I spend some time in the weight room lifting free weights, doing squats, lunges, curls, etc. Usually one day will be lifting directed at arms, shoulders, and upper back…followed by a run on the treadmill or elliptical. The next day will be lifting directed at legs and lower back followed by a swim. Every day is ab day, hahahahaha, and there is at least one day of full rest in between where I don’t go to the gym but may still ride my bike, legs permitting. I also try to keep my diet at least half raw fruits and veggies, if not more. And drink a lot of protein in addition to eating a lot of protein rich foods. Well…that sounds a lot more strict than it really is haha. :)
